Question about capacitor....
Had one installed today and it really fixed my dimming lights and gauges. It is a Boss 2 farad cap. The amp I am running is a Kenwood KAC-X811D at 2 ohm putting out 919 RMS. Speakers are 2 12" Pioneer DVC subs.
Just wanted to post the info for anyone looking for specifics.
Main thing is, this cap has really helped the dimming issue, but just folded the rear seat and the cap is still illuminated and showing voltage on the digital display. Is this normal for a cap to stay illuminated? Also, sounds strange but it is playing a chime kinda tune.
I know a cap is supposed to help to charge the voltage drops, but, is it supposed to be lit up at night and active, the sub is not on, just the cap.
Digital readout on the cap shows 12.80 and 2 blue lights are illuminated, plus playing.....I am not going nuts here...."Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" chime. Is this normal?

usually they beep when they are low on voltage and dropping.... mines stay at around 14, this is a pic of my old 02 max. they stay on for alittle while after the car is off cause they decharge, thats normal..

this is his audio system here: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=378825
if connected correctly:
I just think the power and neg wire's to it are too small so the caps are not getting the proper current. so when the amp kicks bass it takes from the 12 volts and pushes it to low for it to run. so it drop under whats required and goes into low voltage "the santa song".
2 da max: your wires are touching somewhere, I put a rubber tube around the ends that hook up to the power wires so if they touch they don't spark...
