Opinions wanted - Getting rid of Bahn and replacing w/ Alpine

Ive considered getting rid of my Audiobahn Flame 12" subs that are hooked up to 2 JBL 1200.1 amps.. and going will all alpine. I can get a killer on them.. but i what i was wondering is.. I know bahn's put out alot more watts.. but wont alpine sound luder even tho they dont put out the thousand watt wattage? I mean they might be more efficient. Gimme some ideas guys.. thanks

Subs do not put out watts, they receive them. With that being said and being brutally honest Audiobahns crap is Extremely overrated. All money is put into marketing and cosmetics, nearly none is put into R&D.

Alpine, although better, wouldnt be in my top ten choices of subs either.

As for the actual question...they will handle the power, and sound better than the Bahns.

There was no intention to offend you in this post, so please dont take it that way.

its all good don. I know my sheit. I was just in a hurry. Ive learned alot in the passed 2 years.. Just because a sub is able to receive 1,000 watts rms doesnt mean its going to be the loudest and best... Now if you have a sub that is made WELL and more efficient i think it could sound better/louder with less wattage.

Alpine might not be quite as loud but it wont sound like **** like Audiobahn does. And if you throw a Type X 12 on there, OMG. I have only heard one good Type X setup, it was a ported 12 on an Alpine MRD-M1001 in a Subaru Forester, but it blew the doors off the car. Very impressed. I Say sell the audiobahns and one JBL 1200, and put one of the 1200s on a Type X 12 ported, be just as loud with 100% more SQ.

As you can tell I hate Audiobahn and love the Type X. Other Alpine subs are so-so.

The type-X 12" sub was reviewed in Car Audio and Electronics a couple of months back, the person reviewing it gave it good marks.

easyto hit 155? let's see some scores/vids

my box builder was using three IA 12s, each getting 2000 watts, huge ported box tuned high, and managed to 'only' hit around 155 dB.

back on subject, i'd choose the alpines over the audiobahn as well. the bahns are too showy.
