What do you think?
Well, since the a/d/s 640.2 is being discontinued, I am now exploring alternates. This is what I have run across.
Focal KX Components
JL Audio 300.4 Amp
Rockford Fosgate Power 250.2
(2) JL Audio 12W3s
JL Audio Evolution 6x9s
Tell me what you think

It's Class D, which is best for subs, of course. Its actual output at any input voltage (11-14.5) and any ohm load (1.5-4) is 552.2 watts. It draws only 50 amperes at rated output. Ken Pohlmann said, "distortion was excellently low", "very impressive set of connections and controls", "that combination of high power, loud levels, and clean detail is extremely rare, and I felt that the JL Audio 500/1 was superb in that respect", "I've reviewed plenty of amplifiers in my time, but I've never seen a sub amp provide such a sonic tool set... The JL Audio 500/1 really is a professional amplifier for serious listeners".
Can I step in here? JL Audio amps are very nice, all the reviews and comments I've seen about them are very good. A 300.2 and a 500.1 would be an ideal setup instead of mixing a JL and RF amp.
McIntosh amps are in a different league though they are built like their home stuff, rock solid and inefficient.
If you're considering McIntosh now, look also at Zapco or Brax/Helix amps.

I was entertaining the McIntosh because they sounded really nice with the Focals.

Anyhow for an aside an a/d/s dealer I know uses Helix, Brax, Genesis and McIntosh amps for his line of speakers which range from Dynaudio to Focal and a/d/s. I guess it just depends on the budget of the customer
Update
I put a little dough on my system. I am waiting for them to call me when they have a JL amp on the board for me to test listen to. I am going to bring a Telarc Classical CD and The Friday Soundtrack as test material. I might even bring Lauryn Hill's CD as a test piece.
