I'm about to start wrapping my amp rack and sub box
in vinyl and was wondering if anybody had any tips
on using the stuff. My amp rack is pretty much flat,
but the other stuff I'm gonna wrap has lots of curves
in it. Is there a specific vinyl i should buy for that?

Here's my idea on how to vinyl stuff...
spray with 3M adhesive spray
staple it down, stretch it good
heat it up

yes? no?

Make sure you get unbacked vinyl. If it has a backing, it won't stretch. Spray both the back of the vinyl and the wood with the adhesive spray, and then let it sit for a few minutes to get really sticky and less wet. Heating the vinyl will help, too.

From: Bay Area, CA
remember to put a good sheet of foam/sponge material in between the vinyl and the wood to give it a "soft" look

You can go to www.selectproducts.com and you can get to "heatable" vinyl that is easier to work with for the curvy panels. Heating regular vinyl is tricky and you can burn it with a heat gun if you arent very careful. they also have a heat activated adhesive that will save you some heartaches if you have a very complex panel.
