ehh...first try calming down when posting

anyhow, the W7 is a SQ and SPL monster. but it's way over-priced IMO. you can get 2 excellent subs for the price of one W7.

Even if you have the money stay away from the dub7. Ive only heard one good setup with W7s, and it was 4 of em (12's) ported, on Rockford bd1000's, and Diamond Hex mids/highs in a Navigator (which also has airbag suspension, 24's, etc...used to work with him). Anyway, IMO the W7 cant decide whether its an SPL sub or an SQ sub, its just damn loud. Its nice dont get me wrong, but if your stuck on JL get W6v2's.

Anyway, the only thing JL I would buy is amps since they have the same power at 1.5-4 ohms. Other than that, there are better brands out there. Arc Audio, Diamond Audio, Focal, MB Quart, Rainbow, Zapco, etc. All ones id take over JL anyday.

Except thier amps have really poor power supplies and the cause FM interferance. I GAVE my 300/4 and 500/1 away after 3 weeks.

SQ= Sound Quality, SPL= Sound Pressure Level (loudness)

After reading post 11 I wouldn't. For a decent price you could get a Hifonics Brutus or Zeus 1000 or 1500 to push those bablies.

IMO the W7 has much more potential to be a tighter sub. A Much more Responsive Sub. The W6 ain't a bad sub either but, the W7 just has greater potential. Now if I were to get either of the subs, they would be an 8" or 10". Im more into SQ...

The reason I would go for the W7 tho, is the power rating and the length of it's throw. The 10" W7 almost has a full inch of throw; (throw, meaning the distance the sub can move in and out). Where the 10" W6 has only close to 1/2" of throw.
The W7 can handle 500W continuous at a 3ohm load. Which makes 2 10"'s the perfect fit for the JL 1000/1.
The other Reason the W7 is a nicer sub is because of the way it can disperse heat and air behind the cone. This also makes it more durable and longer lasting. Believe u me, we PUMP our 12W7 at work all day long. Same one for the past 9 months.
Last feature making it better is the size of the W7's Neodyneum magnet. nearly a 1/3 larger than that of the W6.
So really when you look at it, you're paying for a sub with less boundries... not to mention these suckers come with a 2yr warranty.

Granted there are better subs on the market. But this is just betweent the W6 and W7. Another good sub is the Boston Acoustic G5 Series Sub.

Always go sealed!! unless you have an SUV, OR you're just lookin for Boom. then go vented....
