chrome belongs on engines not woofers and amps...

black powdercoat suffices kicker xs's and even mb quarts were properly finished like this.

im not joking, btw im 18 today!!!!

lol of course im joking, i was thinking about alot of stuff today. i was thinking about getting the tdx, but i dont know if im ready for that as yet. i want bass. my boy with 2 15 l7s was blowing my system way out of the water, and so does alot of ppl around here. i need a sub thats much louder than kicker

i was thinking of a brahmah, or a xxx. 12
i want a bad *** spl sub, and then have some sick *** components.
maybe the cdts, rainbow, or ARC Kar series. i really dont know which ones to get because ive never heard any. well i heard the cdt cl unamped.

speaking of amps i want a nice amp tha pushes around 600rms. maybe a brutus? soundstream? or maybe kx600.1?

then i need a hu, eclipse is out because its non removable, i guess im stuck with alpine again. lol

any opinions or suggestions what to get?

or maybe Diamond subs and diamond amp? well i dont know if there that power hungry subs, but ne suggestions would help

600.1 is a solid amp. but too bad most super subs are dvc2 so its rendered useless. get a 15 for more spl because you are into that. also go ported and tune about 35hz for good spl and sq mix.

all diamond amps are solid, and the tdx's (or whatever is the model that replaced it) is a very power hungry sub. But when powered right, theyre amazing. If you want loud and awesome, pick up a ~1200 watt amp and put it to a tdx 15 ported.

whatever you do, dont get the xxx on a hifonics brutus amp. i cant even count the number of people that read about this setup on forums and copy it straight into their car. Ive never been a fan of Hifonics, theyre ok for the price I suppose though.

honestly my system now isnt really that much of a step up of what i have now. before i was pushing 200rms on a sealed 12, and now im pushing 300rms on a ported 12

price of brahmah is 435 right?
and a xxx is about 500 right?
how do you guys think that avalanche sub would match up to those?

I'd gone with Memphis myself. A lot lower on price, and great products... but hey, to each his own.

I just love people who say Memphis is crap.... well for crap it has been winning a lot of awards and making new records.

yes memphis does make good amps hhm i guess another one to put on the list. my boy has a 2 channel memphis pushin 1000watts. maybe i should go with that?

I run a 500 D in my truck, and to be honest, it's too much power for that little truck. Take a peek at my website, you'll notice the last sound comp I went to I hit 147.6... taking 3rd in the 0-500 watt class. That was with 2 RF punch Z 12"s, in two sealed boxes, running 1 sub per channel... or SQ setup.

Now I have that monster of a box in there, and getting 2 Memphis M-class subs, which the box is actually tuned for and the amp is bridged now. Sound comp is in June... wonder how it will turn out this year?

I like Memphis's stuff (originally from TN), in fact I'm thinking of upgrading to the 1000 watt amp after the sound comp. They put out a lot of great products. The D series amps are my favorite.

neways ive been looking at the DA, ARC, and RE sites. the Arc looks like its more sq and and looks like its going to cost me some money.
i have no idea how much a DA sub goes for or amp goes for.

yes because arc amps only work with people who are above 25 and an iq of at least 115. cmon man, i thought we are teaching you something? anyway id stray away from an XXX only because of its weights and how much power it needs to be loud. caraudio.com people are selling theres because they do not like them as much as people say. id look into the new brahma or avalanche for great output from 500-1000 watts.

Hmm... let me think on the amp... My 500 D cost me about $350 but that was a deal. Originally I think it was around $430ish. 1000 D... hmm I'd want to say maybe around $700-900. Not too sure, Memphis doesn't do internet sales... something I like about them. Less chance of BS coming like with audiobahn.

I'm not familiar with NY, but here's their dealer list. You could call and find out.

Like I said, I love Memphis. www.memphiscaraudio.com they have a few different styles of amps and subs... as well as some of other goodies. Take a look.

As for the RF, they're coming out. I'm putting in 2 new 12" Memphis M-Class subs. The box was originally designed for them. AE (Audio Enhancers) Makes all of Memphis's boxs, and tunes them for their various subs. Hopefully I can have the swap and break in done before the sound comp.

I have my own schedule for break in period, a lot stricter and longer than suggested. That's why those RF are now going on 3 years old and have no problems.

The box will be replaced after the Sound Comp. I'm having 2 new fiberglass boxes built, dynamat, and alarm installed. I'm hoping to get the 1000 watt Memphis amp too, but that all depends upon how much everything will cost. I have a $1500 budget for the stereo this year, and it's going to be cut close, even with the deals I can get.

in the proper size box, the 12" XXX/BRAHMA 2-4cu tuned real high around 44hz, will only require 500watts to reach full excursion. everyone is talking about the soundsplinter subs how they have the same quality as the XXX but requires less power.

arent avalanche subwoofers suppose to reach full excursion without that much power also? same xbl2 technology, anyhow i need to sell my interior speakers and talk to don about some rainbow or arc components i was reading on other threads about the eclipse 8454, but personally although a superior headunit i dont like the look too much. and ill be sticking with my 9833 4 volt preouts...not great but itll suffice

any sub given a large enough box will reach their mechnical limit with 'small' amounts of power. but yeah, port a brahma in a large box, and it'll get plenty loud
