My Bass Cuts Off......Reason?

I decided to turn up the volume the other night and noticed at high volume, my bass cuts off. Bass comes on and off until I reduce the volume. Anyone know why?

Sounds like your amp may be clipping (shutting itself off). How long does the bass cut off for when this happens?

You might need more power. Maybe a better battery or a power capacitor could help out.

check your connections...i found out i had a crimp in the RCA cables, and that was the problem, so i zip tied it to my trunk liner...

its the same system I had on my civic and didn't have this problem. Civic's battery was smaller too.

maybe it's my 5+ year old RCA cable. Didn't feel like spending $50-$100 for a new set but I guess I'll give it a try.

But crimp on wire would cause bass to cut off and on at only high volume?
