HU wiring help
hello, i just bought a 91 maxima without a bose system and i installed a pioneer DEH-p6700mp. im having 2 problems, one is that my antenna doenst go up. i dont know what wire to hook the power antena wire from the aftermarket harness to the radio harness. i cut off the little clip on the blue/white wire on the stereo and hooked it up to the blue/white wire on the harness to get my back speakers working. am i supposed to hook up my blue antenna wire to this one to? and my second problem is on the head unit the back light on the head unit goes on every 20 seconds or so. if i take off the illumination wire will this stop it or do i have another problem? everything else works fine i still get am/fm reception but because the antenna isnt up it gets distorted in certain areas. well thanks for ur help in advance.

ok there should be a thick black wire. Thats your antenna wire it almost looks like a S-Video Cable on the tv, or a keyboard/mouse wire for the computer. That plugs into the back of you headunit.
As for the illumination wire, i don't have mine wire connected never did. I don't think youll have any problems if you disconnect it.

On Pioneer units the power antenna and amp turn on are one in the same. You can connect that wire to both the power antenna and to the amp turn on of the harness.
No problems will occur if the illumination wire is disconnected.
