2005 SL adding Sat Radio

I have a 2005 SL that is pre-wired for Sat radio with the stock Bose HU. . What does it take to add the receiver and antenna?

I'd prefer Sirius because I have it in the house via Dishnetwork.

Do I have to go to Nissan, or can I use aftermarket components? What the least expensive way to add Sirius? How much are we talking about?

Thanks,
P

Soon, but not yet, will you be able to have factory integration for sat radio. The stealership is your only option if you want the sat radio to be built in to the factory radio, versus having a separate little aftermarket receiver/display for it mounted wherever in your car. An aftermarket one is going to be cheapest and give u the flexibility to have other cradles for it to take it other places, depending on which sirius unit you get. But for an aftermarket one your looking at somewhere between 100-200 for the equipment, and then another 50 or so to install it, ball park prices.

sirius is your best bet. i went with integrated unit. super easy install. i placed the antenna on my rear deck. you're looking at around $300. having steering wheel controls and on screen display is so worth it.

if you go aftermarket, you can get a car kit for $100-200 and you have to run wires to power it, antenna, and better use a cassette adapter (fm modulator causes slight noise sometimes). Just did this setup fpr a friend.
