Dan Wiggins is an unbelievable transducer designer. He is responsible for the XBL^2 motor design used by Adire, Resonant Engineering, Acendant Audio and a few others that don't want this released to the general public. Adire designs some of the best high excursion drivers like the Tumult and Brahma. Dan has a passion for accurate audio reproduction and it shows in his work. He's also one of the few guys in the industry that is an active participant in these type forums (just not this one).

Yeah, there's alot of people on here who like them... I'm still a Memphis fan Too bad Memphis's LVS series is too expensive. Heck a MOJO would give you plenty of pounding. But their M-class would be just in your budget though... and they're good subs.

Do you have to have 15's??? Why not get a hold of one of the new Kicker 12" L-5/L-7's and handle ya bizzne$$??? It's too bad you've got limited funds, otherwise you could drop them Benjaminz on a new 15" Solo-X... Shaq has one of those in one of his rides, and I'm pretty sure it's the ONLY one he has in there (heck, it's the only one he'd need at 10,000W RMS or some ridiculous amount like that...)

I'm guilty as the rest of'm- recommending drivers greater than your budget. at ~$150 per driver look into Kicker Comp 12/15's

My bad... The 18" Solo-X weighs 125lbs, 10,000W max/5,000 RMS. I saw some guy on eBay that was selling it, and he had it on some kind of stand in his store standing next to it - the thing was MONSTROUS!!! I tried to find the pic I saw, but here's one I was able to find where this guy is leaning it on the edge of his trunk... Can't even fit that thing in there...

I don't see how anybody has any real use for something like that...

...but anyway, back to the subject. I'm pretty sure there's a LOT of subs out there that I haven't heard yet, but, as far as reliability is concerned, I'm sold on Kicker subs. I have a pair of C-10a's that have lasted me nearly 10 years, and are still going strong. I'm getting rid of them, and that heavy-*** box they're in if anybody's interested

Good luck with the decision - with all of us chiming in on it, I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever decision you make!
