Close...yet so far away

Came across something interesting today. While sitting in traffic i put in a new CD and it didn't sound right(I still only have my 6x9s installed). I started messing with the eq. and bal. and noticed that if i turn the bal. to the right my left spkr plays and visa versa. They are hooked up backwards ,but the odd thing is i got excellent bass response. But when i put the bal. back in the middle the bass sounds like crap. How can i get both speakers to hit hard like one does.
thnx
holla!

You might have reversed the polarity of the wires when you switched them.

actually...you said reversed the polarity didn't you. Thats not the problem, they are wired out of phase. Switch the positive and negative wires on one of your speakers, that will take car of the problem.
