Bose Speaker cuts in/out...Short???

My 97 max is giving me sh*t. The driver's side bose speaker keeps cutting in and out. I figured it was just some sort of short but from what i have been reading about newer maxs having the same problem i am wondering if it is a HU problem. I saw that '02s i think had a service bullitin for thier hu for the same problem. Any ideas? Also, I have been serching for a website i saw a while ago that showed how to fix the display problem and "cd err" message that some of us are all to familiar with but i can't find it. It was fixed by just soldering in a new resistor on the board inside of the HU. If you guys know the site im talking about lemme know. Thanks, Sam
