Do Alpine Type R's Fit?

Im debating on a system conversion, but it dawned on me that the type r speakers may be too deep and the window may hit them, im just curious to know if they would fit. size is 5.25 components for the front and 5.25 for the rear correct?

all for a 96 i30 thanx

Why don't you get 6.5s for the front? More midbass.

I have the Type-R 6 3/4 in all four doors. Rings were made from MDF to clear the front windows. No clearance issues in the rear.

Dont believe everything that Crutchfield says. 6.5s are the correct size and they fit fine. Of the 100+ Maximas that Ive done Ive never used anything smaller.

well i measure the speakers myself one day too and the 5.25's are whats in there, and curthfield was the same so thats why i assumed that, but if they will def fit in my car for my year like def def then i will buy the larger speaker i dont have anything agaisnt them i would buy them over the 5.25 any day

nope you dont even neet to take out the amps on the door there on the side next to the speaker. no cutting either. plus why would there be anything to cut if your going to amp them?

Like I said in well over 100 Maximas that Ive done, theyve always been 6.5s.

You can do Alot better with your money than those choices, but I guess to each their own....

wim not picking alpine just because they look pretty, i happen to think they have the clearest sound, plus itll go good with my type r subs.

with the splicing i may either change the HU and keep the speakers and i have to splice in a special converter, but if i do that and then want to chnage my speakers later on, the wiring harness will be firther butchered

this is also my first speaker and HU install, i have done my subs, that was easy, and that included splicing into the rear, this is alot more work.

how do you get to the tweetersbecause they are in the column?
where is the amp located? under the radio or behind each speakers?
Do i need to remove the speakers cups in the doors?
its not hard to rerunwires through the door?

and as a sidecoment my headliner rattles right where the domelight is anyone kno what causes that and how to fix it
