Pics of your ground point

I'm going to drill a hole on the side of the spare tire well towards the back of the car. There isn't too much back there to hit (check and double check the spot you pick anyway) and it's pretty close to where my amps will be (one on either side of the trunk). Make sure you grind off the paint around the ring terminal(s). I'm going to use a dremel, but you could probably just use sandpaper. You'll also want to use something to help prevent rust. I think there's something called dielectric grease which prevents corrosion but conducts electricity or maybe silicone spray. Talk to your local autoparts place and see what they'd use to prevent corrosion on battery terminals. Wow, I wrote alot there .

Couldn't you just lift the carpet back and drill a hole near the wheel well area of the trunk on the left side? I wouldn't think you would hit anything there. Im going to redo mine soon and I considered drilling in the wheel well area. I decided against it cause if you run a 4 gauge or larger wire out of the bottom of the spare tire well you would have to cut a hole in that particle board cover to run the wire through or it will not fit right. And the sub box will probably be sitting on that wire too if it is routed through the center of the trunk.

I thought I found the best ground point...and then I realized there was some faint noise in my system. It's really faint, but it pisses me off, so I will be moving the ground wire soon. Right now, it's behind the trunk lining, near the shock tower.
I'm pretty sure this is what's causing the noise, because I ran my RCAs and power down opposite sides of the car. I thought sanding the black paint would help, but I just realized that this piece to which I grounded isn't actually part of the body and that there may not be a great connection between it and the body. So, I'll have to find/place a screw somewhere else back there.
