Or do you need an adapter of some sort? Did you have any issues with mounting depth? Where in the doors did you place your crossover? Im finally getting these comps and don't want any surprises when I install them. Cant fully decide whether to get the ef or cl series though.

My CL's fit perfectly. The cross over I placed in the spot where the bose amps (I think) fit.

I wonder if the speaker mounts are the same on a GXE with no bose.
Where exactly is the bose amp located in cars that came with it? above the speaker/to the side?
Did you use sound deadening. How do they sound?

Its on the side of the speaker in a small plastic black rectangle. I dont have sound deadening but they sound wonderful.

Thanks for the info. Thats just what I needed to know. Did you use self tapping screws to mount the crossover? Im guessing if you did they would need to be 1/2" or less in length to avoid hitting the window.

There wouldn't be any chance that the speaker mount on the 95-96 is different than the 97-99 is there? I just noticed that everyone that posted has a 95-96. I doubt it makes a difference but I thought I would throw that out there.
Also, has anybody had issues with their crossover rusting while inside the door? I would doubt it because of the plastic moisture barrier that is on the doors.

I doubt 95-96 and 97-99 are any different.

I used some velcro my mom had around to mount the tweets so that I can remove/re-aim them if I feel like it. They came with double sided sticky tape. personally I'd just go with an option like that in case I ever remove them...no holes.

I have the x-overs in mounted to the inside of the kickpanels (with velcro again) works for me, and I don't have to worry much about water getting at them. I was a bit worried about have the drivers side near the power cable, but one of the guys over a CAF assured me that it wouldn't cause a problem and it hasn't. Good luck.

I was thinking about putting them in the kickpanel but I want to avoid having to run two wires from the crossover into the door itself.
I may have to put these plans on hold though. I was just on the highway during a hellish hail storm. I thought my windows were gonna break. I have probably thirty small dents mostly on the roof. I bet the dent removal places are gonna be busy tomorrow.

That sucks man.

I actually mounted the tweets to the kicks too, so still only one wire into the door.

I was thinking about putting the tweets in the black plastic part that hides the screws for the side mirrors. I don't know if thats the best place for imaging or not but its better to cut a small hole there than on the door panel. Im sure I could pick up those covers at a junkyard for ten bucks.

Evidently you want the main tweets near the woofers. If you had a second set then you'd put them up higher.

That location is closer to the woofer than putting them in the a-pillars though. Most people that replace their bose use that the stock a-pillar location dont they? I think that plastic cover is probably 18" or less away from the mid in the door so Im hoping it sounds good.

lol if the hail wasn't enough I found out today that Im leaking gear oil out of the manual trans. I think its a bearing issue. I'll have to fix that before i get my components.
