I wish I'd gone with an Eclipse HU. I should have listened to Don in the first place.

I like my 9835 and all, but I know that I could be getting better SQ. Hence, I'll probably have to go ahead and buy a nice AVN when funds become available. I'm going to get hammered on the Alpine if I try to sell it.

That is pretty interesting. But a few people even mention on there that the 9835 is superior to the 9855, which I agree with. I think the 9835 (or maybe the 9815) may have been the best Alpine (non-F1) in recent years, and now they're going downhill.

I still love my 9835 for looks and features. The Eclipse HUs don't look great IMHO.

But I realize that, in the end, SQ is what a true system should be all about. And I accept the fact that Eclipse has the best SQ. I was surprised to see that the reviewer on there put Clarion and Premier above Alpine. That's a little disappointing.

Anyway, like I said, I will be switching to Eclipse in time, funds allowing.

I agree.

I think that the best Alpine setup in a whiile besides their F#1 stuff was their CDA-7949 paired up with a PXA-H600 digital phase processor(from around 1999, so not so recent). I truly liked the sound it put out, just got tired of the cd player not playing CDR's.

I would not mind at all having this Clarion .

I really like my Eclipse though .
