I've had Sirius for 2 years now. I love it, it's worth every penny.

I have the old-school FM modulated setup with the huge antenna on the trunk (painted body-color), the tuner in the trunk, the FM-mod under the center console and the faceplate in the DIN slot under my CD player...

I took one of the baby seat restraints plastic covers off and used the provided magnet to stick it to that. I hate stuff on the outside of my ride.

Get an aftermarket radio. Pioneer or 06 Eclipse. Youd be able to hardwire both and control both through the radio without extra crap on your dash. Not to mention the improved sound quality over sh!tty fm modulation.

Actually Kevin, you can do both and without an FM Mod.

Im confused. That was the point of my post, to tell him to avoid fm mods, hence me saying get Pioneer or Eclipse to hardwire both. What am I missing?

Yea the USA Spec units should be pretty cool. I can't wait to get mine. Now Don just needs to help me make a decent sub setup on budget.

Thanks Don. I replied as well so get back to me.

Also a question about the whole satellite radio thing. When you go under overpasses on the highway and in the city do you lose reception for a couple of seconds? If yes that is really annoying isn't it especially since I live in NYC?

Also anyone know if Sirius is coming out with the whole traffic thing like XM has available. So that should I get a navi unit I can get traffic reports and have it plan my route around the traffic? That would be awesome!

On some occasions yes you will lose reception with them. Although it tends to be alot more frequent for Sirius than XM.

Sirius has a similiar setup to XMs NavTraffic.

Oh really I wasn't aware. Don let me ask you a question. If i get nav unit that is for Sirius can I use it to get XM and Navtraffic or something? Also if XM has gets better reception why does everyone keep saying that sirius is better?

hmm it would totally suck though if every time I go under an overpass for it to stop playing. But I will probably wait for a navi-type unit intil one comes out with bluetooth and sat radio that will also recieve traffic info and re-route my trip to avoid the traffic accordingly. Right now I need some help picking a sub, and I'll connect my ipod meanwhile.

Sirius supports a different type of Navtraffic.

Two words..Howard Stern. I have both Sirius and XM. Sirius in my car (the only one that works with Eclipse) and XM in my wifes minivan. In the short two weeks XM has yet to cut out on me at all. Sirius...on a regular basis.

Personally I think its decent for what it is. Better than AM/FM, not quite as good as CDs.

I only use it due to being free.

MAYBE by the end of the month. I did take one or two preorders already, so if theyre here by the end of the month, they may already be sold out.
