does the volume control **** operate electronically or mechanically? When the volume is turned all the way down, can the **** keep turning or does it stop?

 

Pretty sure its electronically on the 4th gens too, I know the 5th gens are.

The 95-96 is not electronic.

 

Hmm, weird. Im trying to think if I know anyone with a 4.5 gen to ask. You might try posting this question in the 4th gen forum, but I avoid the gen specific forums because of the idiots, flaming, and constantly locked threads due to the idiots and flaming.

I have a 98se. My bose radio volume control (potentiometer- how ever it is spelled?) is electronic on my radio. I can turn it forever! Hope this helps. Why do you ask?

 

I ask because having the radio apart sparked my curiosity about the diffrences between the 2 designs.
