People with Microvision Screens..Answer this

How many of you powered your screen to a seperate switch and why? Is it necessary? Also if you have a power inverter, how did you hardwire it? Thanks

I power on and off mine by twisting the stem that turns on your sidemarkers first and then your headlights on the second click. I wired the screen to the orange illumination wire that is conected to your headunit. In turn every time I turn on the sidemarkers the screen goes on when I click them off the screen goes off. Cons to doing this would be decreased bulb life due to them having to be on while the screen is on. I'm sure you could connect it straight to the red wire that already powers you screen and the screen would always be on while your car is on. Or some people have moved thier infared receiver from the screen to another location, like on your dash where you could turn the screen on and off using the remote. Some people have first test fitted the screen and marked out where the infared receiver from the screen lands on thier center console dash and drilled a hole to allow the ir signal from the remote to be received. You have tons of options choose wisely.

wouldn't it be easier to wire it to the cig lighter, through a switch? then you don't have to keep your clearance lights on.

Well I have a relay running throuh my HU's remote out so I have plenty of power for remote turn on. I use it to tun on my amps, power Microvision screen, DVDmp3 player, sirius, ....The all get power when the HU turns on.

Thats the way i like to wire stuff like that at least. I've thought about putting a switch in there for the screen though, so I can turn it off when driving and not watching a movie. they generall don't go well toghether
