I just bought a 2000 Maxima.When i bought the car the only way to open the car from the factorty remote is to turn the key to the left then the doors unlock from the remote.I installed an alarm and the same thing.Could i have something faulty from the lock.I checked the switch it is fine.

 

Are you sure you are tapped into the right door lock wires? So lock works but unlock doesnt? Do you have a probe to test out whether shooting a ground to the lock or unlock wires will actually lock and unlock it? Sounds fishy.

 

Before i even installed the alarm it was doing this with the factory keyless entry.Press unlock nothing.Put key in door turn to left,press unlock on remote and it works.Close the door try it again and have to repeat the process.That is why i decided to put an alarm.I am assuming somethig is faulty in the lock system.

 

Sounds that way to me. Might want to wait for Don to see this, see if he has any ideas.
