what is a good quality head unit for around $300? I have diamond audio components, jl audio 10" sub, powered by a 4 channel rockford fosgate 600a4 amp. thanks for your opinions!

 

Anything ///Alpine or Eclipse. Personally, I dont mess with anything else. Some of the high end Clarion's are good.

 

I'll have to put in a plug for clarion. I love their stuff, but I can also agree with DCmax that alpine and eclipse are good too. The sony CDC-90 (think that's the model number) is a hot HU! That things been in more winning sound competition vehicles than you can shake a stick at!

 

And wouldn't you know, I have one for sale.

Why are you selling yours? I'm slightly interested, however, i wasn't planning on getting a used one.

 

Its actually pretty new. I have had it for a couple of months and I really take care of my stuff. The reason is that i upgraded to the Kenwood KVT-910 and don't need the eclipse anymore.

 

There are a few decent options in that price range. My preference is the JVC KD-SH99. It plays MP3s and has a ton of great features. I'm on the backorder list, expecting shipment in two weeks.
