There is no way I'm going to have this all done by Wednesday before I leave for DC for 4 days. My goal is to have the HU & iPod wired and mounted. The final trim work will have to come next week after I get home as well as installing my new 12w6v2 once it arrives. The plexi piece in the above 2 pics is going to be scrapped.

Tomorrow is going to be a loooong day

Much more done today. I actually just listened to it for a few minutes to insure everything was working properly. The sound is incredible and the iPod is crystal clear. Oh, it charges too

Man, I need to get my carpet cleaned.

The Eclipse mounted (more fit & finish will come next week.

Misc wiring. (Ammi - there's your grounding point)

Wiring everything up.

Testing everything. The iPod sounds great coming through this unit. I also played a CD (3 Doors Down "Let Me Go") I'm going to be very happy with this setup.

My 4 channel Eclipse hooked up in the trunk. Much different than when I had the 8's back there.

I had the 4 channel set to high pass, and changed it to "through" and the sound quality is amazing. It's almost like you don't need a sub back there (but I'll install one just the same).

Gotta get my interior back in the car and tuck everything away. Thought I'd just update a bit.

Thanks.

The amp is pretty much just sitting in the trunk for now. I'll be building my new sub enclosure next week and will end up redoing some of the wiring at that time.

I've always loved Jayson's setup. I thought of giving it a try, but I got lazy and decided to buy the GXE trim peice. Here's a pic:

Tim, how difficult is it to seperate the oem radio faceplate from the radio? Just a couple screws?

With the iPod hardwired into your system, are you able to switch the songs with the hand controls on the steering wheel? And do you know if it is possible to hardwire the iPod into the factory HU?

Oh, by the way...please tell me that the HU has a white LCD display? I know that the 5435 is supposed to have like 8 different colors. Please tell me white is one of them. I'm getting a white LED swap done sometime next week, so I want to make sure it matches. If not white, then I'll go for the red, which I know the Eclipse has.

the color is for the button illumination only...5 patterns
red/blue
amber/blue
green/blue
all red
all green

The main title screen remains white illumination i believe..

What is red/blue, amber/blue and etc.? Is that like where half of the buttons are one color, and half are another?

I got the box built for my new JL 12w6v2 and new false floor finished yesterday. The HU is still a work in progress however. I've taken a few pics of what I've gotten done in the last few days since I got back from DC, but as my PC crashed while I was gone, I cannot post pics until my new Dell arrives in the next week or so.

I'm trying to sell my 3 8w6's. I bought a single 12w6v2 to gain some trunk space back and to also change up my setup a bit.

Here are some of the pics of the new sub and the box being built. I'm still debating about how I want to cover the box, so it's still nekid.

Since these pics were taken, I've built a new trunk floor and positioned the box back further under the pass-through.

Thanks guys. Jason, to build the box, and install it, I dragged it out over a two-day period, but I wasn't rushing too much. Work for a while, drink a Rolling Rock, work for a while, etc.
