Microvision + Navigation = possible???
Microvision + Navigation = possible???
I have to microvision 7" screen mounted in my double din dash and that was great for the 3days it was in there but then my friend went and got a flip out pioneer H.U. So now I have to 1 up him. for now I was thinking if I had navigation then I would be on top again.
So my question is is there a way to hook another company's "brain unit" up to my screen for navigation. or anyway at all to get it done.
thanks for the help

I wouldn't really be trying to out do each other unless you both have money trees growing in the backyard but anyway... The only people I know that makes a dvd nav unit that will work with aftermarket screens is Pioneer. Try looking up the Avic80dvd or 90dvd. you should be able to pick one up off eBay for around $400, it's dvd and voice nav. That's what I'll probably get when I get a microvision.
I'd say one up him by making your car sound WAY better than his, but to each his own.Aren't the male species great? The things we will do in the name of pride and competition....
Not 100% sure, but I think Kenwood may make or have made an (if so, to my knowledge it would be the only) add on navigation that will plug into whatever screen. I asked about it because I was also thinking that as long as I have a cool screen, why not add Navigation. Of the three shops I went to to inquire, one told me about the Kenwood unit, but it was priced over $1,000. Like I said, for that money and some research and hard work, you can make your car sound a lot better than his....
