Theres more to a ported box than just throwing it together. I say find the manual for the subs, or call the manufacturer, they should tell you specs for your specific subs and what size box will work best, as well as what the box should be ported to, to get the most out of your subs.

Most car audio manufacturers will even give you the exact outer dimensions of the box.
