largest enclosures
i know this topic may be redundant, but what are some of the largest enclosures people are running here? i recall someone with two DD's in their 4th gen with a 12 ft^3 box? was it 12 or 7? i forgot already, i tried searching for their setup but no luck... i just wanted to see pics of how you got that bad boy to fit. and to see which direction you were firing those puppies

dang man, planet audio = the lose...i will NEVER ever ever EVER buy one of their products again, nor will i ever let a friend. terrible amps man. don't even do their rated power. those birthsheets they come with are total bs, they make better use as toilet paper. my PROFILE which was rated at 900W rms pounded harder. and my current raa1000 (mbquart) just blows it out of the water. planet audio = overrated and shoddy quality, and they try telling you it's handcrafted in the US...

If these were the Zed made PA amps between about 97-2000, I would wonder which model and how much power it was supposed to put out. I played with one of the 75x4 from that line breifly and thought it was a competant amp, as well as the other stuff made by that company (Zed, not PA). And yes I'm a Zed fan...which makes me wonder, is this a Zed made P.A amp?

i'm talking about a Vortex series actually since that's the only one i actually had the misfortune of having to use. i had to EQ my bass settings very high on my h/u just to get similar output (and i know it was straining the amp), but i'm not gonna lie, SQ was ok, but there was seriously no way that my vx900d was putting out even 700w@1ohm...
yours fires to the cabin and you have the trunk sealed off correct? do you have more pics besides the one showing the cones and port?

Gotcha. The Vortex series is not Zed made. 99% sure at least. I believe the current Zed calss D's are they're first Class D.
It's getting harder and harder to find the old Zed made amp from PA, Hifonics, Crunch, and dont' even get me started about my trying to find matches for my ESX's right now (and there's other brands). Some of these brand's names have now become synomomous with "crap" . There's lots of people who, however, know the right models and scarf em up cheap, and that';s now become a market in itself.
Not saying these Zed's are equal, not equal to higher end, more pricey stuff caust theres lots of geat stuff out theretoday...I'm not competant to make that comparison. But compared to best buy/circuit $hitty, and lots of stuff a lil pricey today in a store, you can still hook up with some good old school amps.
Then of course Zed's got there new amps...old school beasts like the rest of em....
I will also say that finding out those Diamond amps are Zeffs makes them cool contenters as well..
theres choices out there, it's just worth doing a little research intot he reputation you are buying....just make sure you're getting reliable, clean powah. Norhting "special" necessary....It's great to know what your getting when you buy it....
Done rambling...
Edit: to the question of the original post...technically, the biggest enclosure would be Infinate Baffle

hm actually i found that david at RE has bench tested several PA amps that didn't even come close to their "birthsheet"....ALSO...i've found pics of other "birthsheets" to VX900D's and they were EXACTLY the same. the numbers for each one were EXACTLY the same....they need to make it a lil random to make it convincing man...
i tried to shove a 5.3 cu ft (gross vol) into the opening...and through the hole behind the rear seat....no worky
i end up with a 2.0 ft net box for my 15. hopefully it'll still sound good mated with the arc amp i'm getting

or this might help. www.cardomain.com/id/kcidmil and you'll want page 4.
Nope... the Maxima will be getting either of the 2 setups.
1 12" Illusion Audio CF sub/ Memphis 500D
1 12" Polk db/ Memphis 500D
I was thinking about an Xtant... but a little too much for my blood. I'll probably end up going with the IA. Just for some extra space in the trunk.
