why do those eclipse head units like the 7000 series with the screen only have 11W per channel?

Are these good units?

 

Eclipse my friend is one of the best out there! I have the 5504 single CD head unit with all Eclipse component speakers. The only other brand i like head unit wise is the new Kenwood with fold out touch screen with CD/DVD/FM,AM/TV tuner all in one, oh and its 22watts x4(kinda weak), but has multiple inputs/outputs for video games, VHS and others for about $2400. I think ill wait till the price drops to around $1500.

 

i love eclipse, way more than alpine, but oh well. i have a 7301 sitting in my closet right now, the screen is awesome, no glare and it's double din. well that sucker is goign to go into my mom's car in taiwan since i swapped it out for a cva1005, reason being, i wanted navi.. and was too lazy to modify the eclipse so i could use navi on it. there's a navi button on it, but it's 100% non functional, i asked techies at eclipse of america and they said can't really wire it up, it only works on japanese eclipse models.. all good tho.. i love the newer eclipse double dins, if only i could afford another swap i would, but i must say, i'm pretty happy with the cva1005.

 

.....you have certain perks. One perk is that the thrft resistance measures built into Eclipse radios are among the best out there. If someone steals your radio, it is rendered useless unless the thief knows your PIN (highly unlikely) and the Serial Number is traceable by the cops.

Maine, you are as picky as I am when it comes to audio equipment. Once you listen to and see the Eclipse for yourself, you will not want to go back to the Alpine.
