What do you think of this setup??

Hi Everyone..
First i would like to introduce myself. My name is Rob. I recently bought a 1997 Maxima SE from my brother who spent alot of time on this site, his user name was Nick97SE. The max was returned to stock and i bought it for $6000 (i thought it was a good deal tho many people have been telling me that i got ripped) The reason im posting in this forum, is because im putting a new system in my car. I was looking for some of you people who know something about audio/electronics to tell me what you all think of this set up:

Front Speakers:
JL Audio XR650-CW Components
Rear Speakers:
JL Audio XR650-CXI Coaxials
Amplifiers:
JL Audio 300/4 Amp
JL Audio 500/1 Amp
Subwoofers:
2 JL Audio W3V2 12" Subs
Headunit:
Alpine CDM-9821 Head Unit
Other:
Stinger Capacitor
Stinger Wiring

Let Me know what you think...I priced it out using prices that i found
online and it came to about 1800.00. I didnt think this was too bad being that my brother spent about 3000+ when he did a very similar install. It will hopefully get it even cheaper cause i have connections at the local store where i will buy alot of the stuff.

Thanks
-Rob

Its not bad...but why all JL? Because of the name?
And your downfall is going to be that Alpine deck for sure. Not only because its Alpine, but it doesnt even have enough preouts to support your amps.
Furthermore, caps are a waste. Upgrade your battery and your factory wiring (the Big 3) and you should be fine.

Your in NJ, just bring it to Don (ie Pearl96Max) Give him your budget, and he will get you the best that Eclipse/Arc/Alumapro/Rainbow can get for ya.

can't argue with the above post...ditch the h/u and cap and you are set. however, id take anything don sells pretty much over JL.

I already have the subs (in a box) and the capacitor. I was going with all JL because thats what my bro had in the car and it sounded great. Don did most of the install for my brother. I will be getting the rest of the equip. from my brothers friend who works at the local car electronics car. Me and my Brother and my friend will be doing the install (most of the wiring is already there from when my bro did his install)

Can you guys recommend another headunit that would be better than the one i picked out.

and i have a Optimum Yellow Top Battery as well

Thanks
-Rob
