Possible 5th Gen Ipod Solution with new FM transmitter
Hey guys,
I know almost everyone with a 5th gen wants a clean install of their ipods with the factory head unit if possible.
I was on ilounge.com and found this new fm transmitter they have. It is unique because the charger itself is the fm transmitter rather than having an iTrip sitting on top of the ipod and a separate cord charging it. It only uses one station 87.9 so there is no adjusting or software to mess with like the iTrip.
The Road Trip
I saw someone before made a 2nd cigarette lighter that was hidden behind the stock stereo on the board. I was thinking what if someone did that and ran the cord under the center console so the charger portion popped up though the cup holder. That way the part that does the transmitting is hidden away and everything looks clean and is pretty much wire free.
This new transmitter is supposed to have a very strong signal and got really good reviews. If I wasn’t such a newb with wiring I would try this myself. Do any of you all who have experience with wiring and electronics want to give it a try?
