I've used an MSD rpm window switch in conjunction with my nitrous system for several years now. I haven't touched the wiring in anyway, but recently the switch hasn't been working properly.

I have 3000rpm (on) & 6400rpm (off) pills installed in the switch which means my nitrous system should activate at 3000rpm and deactivate at 6400 rpm. It's been working fine up until recently and again, I haven't touched any of the wiring.

The problem is that the nitrous system will now activate any rpm regardless of what pill I put in the switch. Say I'm at 2000rpm, I turn on the nitrous system, go WOT, and it instantly activates. I put in a new 3200rpm pill I had laying around and the problem is still there.

I'm 99.9% sure it's a problem with the switch. Does anyone know how I can open up the switch and check for problems? I don't want to bother with sending the unit back to MSD for repairs. Thanks.

But from what you said, ti certainley does sound like the switch...if the switch is acting the same regardless of the pill, if most def. is the switch. It sound as if the switch is likley powered by a relay. Can you crack it open and see if there is a relay in there? If so, test the resistance of the poles, that might be your answer. I'm no electronis genie, but my edumication would leave me to believe [this] is your problem.
