Info on "GXE Dash kit"

I have read many posts that refer to the "GXE dash kit" as far as being the best fit for a aftermarket Hu.

Can anyone point me to some pics of one and tell me where to get it, or who to to get it from?

Also, a approx price would be helpful.

What makes this so much better than everything else?

Thanks

From Dave B. $90 plus the pocket

It's basically the center vents with a big square hole where the radio is. Factory colors etc... not all black like the aftermarket one.

There are some pix in the classifieds section. Hell, I just bought one from somebody for $50.00

Stupid Question...Is the kit just like the picture shown above in "nathen's setup"...Aftermarket Hu on bottom then a "shelf" with open space above it?

The reason I ask is the pictures on courtesyparts just show the "frame".

Sorry for the dumb q

Yes its just the frame with the vents, the pocket is a few bucks more *if* needed for your specific application.

Just a follow up question looking for a little more clarificatiom. I have decided to go with the GXE kit to keep as close to stock look as possible but i would like to know a little more about the pocket. Where do you purchase this from? Does it come from Nissan as well or is it from an aftermarket company?

Thanks for any help with this.

I believe there is a pocket from Metra and Nissan. If you want to get the one from Nissan contact Dave B on the org. I believe his price $18 plus shipping.

I may have to try one of these, not really happy with the fit of the one I got from Crutchfield (I think it's a Metra?). Little too much of a gap on the lft siode where it meets the dash, and it doesn't really meat up with the top of the heater control very well either.
