I just bought an 04 Max. I'm getting the alarm, remote start, and lojack installed next week by the dealer. For an extra $400, I can get Carlink installed.

I had the Vipper 791 with a pager but that only reach a certain amount of distance. But with the carlink, I can receive a phone call if something happens to my car. This is the feature which attracts me to this device.
Do you think this is worth $400?

In a word....NO.
What alarm are they installing?
BTW...LoJack is a piece of crap as well...
May want to look into the Viper/Clifford GPS, replaces both the "carlink" and LoJack. As well as being an overall better product.
