Connecting mp3 play via aux. in.....

ok, i've had my mp3 player (ipod mini) connected to my HU for awhile now. my question is this. the cable that is used to connect it is a 1/8 connecter to rca.

i'd hopefully like to hear from soemone with experience. is there a difference between brands. i bought a standard radio shack "gold shielded" rca to headphone cable for $8. monster cable has the exact same type for $30. i think it's insane to pay that much, but then i wonder if there is ACTUALLY an audible difference. anyone have any experience with a basic brand and a namebrand and noticed a difference. thanks.

Marco...you know Monster is way overpriced crap. Theres no difference. Although you may want to look into the iPod2go for Eclipse HUs.

I was just using a cheapie rca cable for a while, then I bought a better one from FYE, don't recall the name brand, but they make ipod car stuff. Anyway, SQ is 10x better with the new cable. My old one had crappy rca connectors and no gold plating

I decided to go with the Monster Cable version as I've always been pleased with their products for home audio.

my reference to monster was a mere example. it was more of a generalization. but thanks for the confidence. i've always believed that too, i just never asked, so i wanted to know what other thoughts.

anywho, what's this ipod2go unit. show me a link or explain to me what it does. can i control the pod via the eclipse screen?!?!?

thanks.
