No more ported 12's for me

Moved on to sealed 15. After letting the avalanche 15 sit in my room for 3 months, i finally installed it. 2.2 cubes sealed, with 400watts from my monitor mk2.120. Great setup. Very loud, very clean. I listen to a lot of rock, so i scrambled for any cd's with some loud kick drums. Rage against the machine's "killing in the name of" sounded more amazing than ever. Chevelle was slamming too. Threw in an IASCA test disc and went to the spl track. Lets say I confused the neighbors. Now i gotta deaden that trunk and work on my amprack/false floor. I'm waiting on some wiring items i need to tidy things up.

btw..I installed a different head unit too, in record time...7 minutes.

Sounds great. I am also working on building a system for my car. Good luck with the floor and rack.

I'll test some more once the tylenol kicks in The only thing its weak on is bands with a ***** kick drum; definitely not the sub's fault. Then again...I haven't added any bass boost either You're a basshead...keep it ported Or is it too loud?

I wanted to do a foward firing/sealed off trunk from cabin type setup, but couldn't manage the precise cuts with a jigsaw....then after hookin it up i realize i coulda fiberglassed the baffle side and no fancy cuts required! D'OH! Now its gettin a lil nipply for glass, but atleast its loud enough for me rear firing.

i do like my bass but its so tempting to use an nxl2 sub in a selaed box...especially a 15. i think a sealed 15 ava would have sick low end. play 3 6 mafia-late nite tip and let me know hwo the low end is.

Do you know how what frequencies that song dips into? My box is tuned to about 32hz and I don't have a subsonic filter. I haven't had any problems so far with that song so I would guess it dips to about my tuning frequency.....it gets crazy loud on my setup. It sounds a little uneven when the bass notes go up in the spectrum during the refrain though cause my sub is crossed at 70hz.

that song dips to the high 20s/low 30s iirc

how much power are you sending the sub?

still have them too, wish someone would buy them.

If you think I'm pulling your leg on the pic... go here
www.cardomain.com/id/kcidmil

click on my Frontier and go to page 4. The Colorado in the last pic, and the Colorado listed on my Cardomain will confirm it. Especially since the picture with the Subs and Colorado is not put up on the site, mearly listed on my picture listing.

Ben, I wouldnt even worry about proving anything, this guy went on a PWing rampage last night and was just lucky I was too tired and busy to log into the modcp.

ehhh... I'm thinking I'm just going to use the subs, and get the MCD1100 amp. Put those into the maxima. Come January, I'm going to try and sell the Colorado. I figured it up, and I can have a extra $200 every paycheck for use on the Maxima.
