Need sub suggestion for 2.5 slot ported box

Friend of mine has a 2.5 cu ft slot ported tuned to 45 hz box. He's looking for a nice 12 to put in it that can handle ALOT of power. Anyone with suggestions in the $300 range.

yeah anything thats an spl sub because that tuning is strictly for spl comps imo, unless you live for sick spl above 45hz. also alot of subs can handle alot of power in a 45hz box assuming you do not play below tuning.

Thanks slick, anyone else with similar box/ sub suggestions? he can make another box too I suppose, and it may not be tuned to 45 hz. Thats just what he thought it was tuned at.

my total enclosure is like 2.25 without port and woofer displacement with the 2.5 slot port being tuned to 32 hz. I would have to say the earthquake dbx's perfect fit into that enclosure.

my brahma absolutely pounded in a 2.5 cu ft box (though it was tuned to 28 hz). i'd recommend that brahma (mark 1 or 2 will work, no experience with the mark 3)

it'll handle quite a bit of power, and that xbl2 is pretty sweet

what about the digital designs 9512? they can handle a crapload of power. but don't expect good sq though. not sure on pricing, you're gonna have to contact them for that info. i heard a pair of them in NisAznMonk's truck...talk about loud!:
