sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but i am just unsure....

i have the remote starter, so i have a module somewhere in my car with a key in it... so my car has an inmobilizer that would not allow anyone without the key with the chip in it to drive my car...but there is a key with a chip in my car permanently...does that mean i could come and stab the cylinder with ascrewdriver and drive off the car ?? since it has the chip in it already...

please go easy, i know it probably is stupid but i am serious about it and just wanted to know.

also, a little off-topic...can a remote starter be installed in a motorcycle ??

Its not that stupid of a question at all, believe me. Have you met 2 da max?

The bypass module is only activated during the remote start process. For someone to start your car they would have to break into it, take your dash apart, find the bypass module which should be hidden, take it apart/break it to get the key out, and stick it in the cylinder, meanwhile the alarm is going off.


Yes, as long as it is fuel injected.

I'm sure you could add a remote start to a motorcycle.... just requires a bit of ingenuity and wiring knowledge.
