My new Eclipse AVN, pics inside

Like anyone looking for a new headunit I wanted much better sound quality, I also wanted a navigation screen. The Eclipse seemed to offer this and much more for a very good price. Considering I, like most drivers, spend more time inside driving my car, then admiring it from the outside. To me the headunit is probably the most important modification to improve visual appeal, providing great sound quality, and features like DVD movie playback and navigation.

For the most part the pictures speak volumes for themselves.

Anyway tell me what you think!

A perfect fit: (custom dash kit available only through authorized dealer)

The install was done by our very own Don aka Pearl96Max.

Touch screen satellite radio menu.

(Side note: Bluetooth -voice activated dialing, hand-free kit, also installed by Don)

That really is just about the cleanest install I have seen of a double-din unit in the OEM 4th gen slot yet.

Sweet, Gibi.

Why do you have wood grain in one pic and not in the other?

Also, tell me more about the bluetooth installed...

He originally had the woodgrain before I "remade" his dash.

The Bluetooth piece is sweet, but Ill let him go more into detail about that.

Yeah the black looks much better than the woodgrain. Very clean indeed! I'd love to have touchscreen in dash gps/dvd...very cool.... It does look better than the microvision installs you see everywhere (here included).

Just wanted to show how good the AVN looks with either the wood grain or blacks finishes.

But seriously, Don did an amazing job remaking my dash pictures don’t it justice.

When powered off the AVN blends in with the dash so well.

Bluetooth is awesome, when in the car I never have to reach for my phone.

Press one button and a voices says: “Say a command”

Me: “Call Don” (or you can say numbers, 1, 2, 3, )

Bluetooth Voice: “Did you say call Don?”

Me: “Yes”

Bluetooth Voice: “Connecting”

We actually tested this outside in front of Don’s home; we called Don from inside the car and Dons cell never rang, it just went straight to voice mail. Guess he really doesn’t have reception near his home.

Don mounted the speaker and mic in hidden locations. The only thing you see is the command remote. The little silver / black remote mounted near my e-brake and shifter in the 3rd pic.

Why can't you play movies while you drive with the Eclipse? Can you set it up to play movies for people in the back while driving?

who says you cannot?

It can be bypassed to my knowledge, and if you please you can add monitors to play off it

The only colors in the interior of my car now are Black / Charcoal, Brushed metal highlights, and Chrome accents.

holy crap, that's awesome. Pretty much what I'm looking for: plain, no buttons, turns black and description-less when off/parked. How much was everything?

Thats well finished glasswork then....well done. May I ask what paint you finished it with?

Been staring at this some more. Doesn't have a digital (toslink) output on it, does it? Don't think so, so it Wouldn't work in my application even if I could come up with the money...but man, I'd love to have a killer system with that as teh control unit!

Mecca the dash was fglassed.

AVN doesn't have voicedial, it but it does have the mute capability that the Motorola bluetooth device uses.
