4 gauge = (2) 8 gauge?

to save a buck or two, i plan on using two 8 gauge wires to act as a 4 gauge to hook up to my amp. my wires run like this ... .

4 gauge - inline fuse - 4gauge - distribution block - 8 gauge - amp......

i plan on cutting the 8 gauge and making (2) 8 gauge wires connect to the amp. the ground wire i will be using will be a standard 4 gauge.

this shouldnt cause a problem right? cuz from what i know, (2) 8 gauge is slightly thicker than (1) 4 gauge.

just want to be sure that this wont cause any problems.......

it would take 2.52 eight gauge wires to equal a 4 gauge.

i'd just take the time to wire everything correctly.

If your in a money situation, just hold up the whole install. Don't take short cuts, because then in the end you'll be kicking your self in the butt...
