I got this alarm installed and i'm having a bit of problems with it....was wondering if you guys have any idea with what's wrong

1) Buttons on LCD remote have to be press lots of times before it works. Changed the battery and everything. Sometimes i'm 10 feet away doesn't work, other times i'm 1000+ feet away works fine.

2) Sometimes when lights are set on auto...the light does not turn off after car is shutted off.

3) 2 way remote is saying that the shock sensor is active when it's not. Have to press lock button couple of times then it goes away.

4) Sometimes my window rolls down. I have the factory fob can do it...but this one does it too. I don't know how though. I mean i can't hold down the unlock key cause that is the panic button.

5) When my trunk is open the gas cap opens too. Trunk has to be closed first before gas can be closed. And trunk must close hard or gas can't close.

-That's about all the problems i got at the moment. If anyone have any information that might be helpful please let me know. Help would be greatly appreciated Thanks ahead of time.

only one i can say is on the range. where did you place the antennae? You possibly put it in a place where the signal isnt able to reach from the fob or its covered. It should be on the windshield and far enough on the glass to receive a signal. If your ant is just a wire run it up the a pillar on the drivers side if possible.

For no.2, the AUTO lights stay on for about 2-5min after the car is shut off.

Maybe the install job isnt very good. They couldve used T - Taps or Quick connects. I just learned about a month or so ago how to do caralarms/remote starts. And unfortunatly the best way to get a connection is soldering it takes a little more time but it is a sure fire way of never having anything fail unless its hooked up wrong. PearlMax you dont reccomend Audiovox ? Ive done a few and havnt seen to have any problems. I was gonna get one for my brother and install it. But if theirs horror stories about them then i guess i better think twice.

Personally? No. Theyre decent products, but a higher failure rate than some others. Ive actually replaced more units than Ive sold.

hey, I never said they were bad :P . But from what i know soldering is the safest way. SOMETIMES the T Taps do tend to lose connection but it is quite rare.

i mean lights varies on how long it stays on from time to time? the attenna is place on teh windshield front. Right in the middle next to the mirror.l it's in a pretty good location. I mean the car is right outside my window right now and i had to press the unlock button 5 times before it unlocks. Then there are other times that it just works right away.
