Rainbow Profi Vans
The tweeters were mounted in the factory a pillars but some cutting was required to get them to fit. The mids were installed in the factory kicks and the 6.5s were mounted in the factory door locations. I also had a new DLS OA10 installed in the rear deck to replace my ID8. The fronts are being run passive off of my 4150 which is now bridged to two channels. My initial impressions are WOW! The tweeters are a lot smoother than my profis and the sub obviously hits a lot deeper. After the speakers break in Steve from Audionutz will be fine tuning the system for me. Pics:

Congrats...
But I have to say...wth is up with the a-pillars? looks like the installer cut a piece of his sock to wrap the tweeter cover. No offence, but I'm sure another fabric or grill cloth would've looked better.
Also how do you plan on dealing with the pathlength differences created by separating the domes from the tweets and still use the passive xover? Dont you have an H701? Another 2chs of power is in order and put that processor to use...you are missing out on their potential unless you can pull everything together..

Congrats and enjoy the install. Yeah Metal..off axis like that is great for domers making them an easy kick install...I agree the grilles for the tweets could look a lil better, but I like it how they hide the tweets to not draw attention to them. I'm sure full active would help this system a lot as Manny said...
All in all awesome...I'm sure it'll sound great with a Steve Head tune! Enjoy!

So he'll be using the 701 and wiring some things out of phase I believe.
The problem I foresee is that since you are using the passives both driver side tweet and driver side dome will get the same delay, although unequal in pathlengths. The tweeters need a greater delay than the domes.
Anyways i may be getting too technical for no reason, if you can use the time alignment to somewhat center the stage its all that matters- you should have adequate height as is...enjoy'm
Metal.......no
When I ran domes I played with the aiming of them in the kicks and to me they did the best off axis....less localizable....wider soundstage...
As Manny will testify, a Mazda at a meet we went to had them off axis like this and sounded awesome.... He'll do well in comps next year. .

Yeah, I'm pretty much leaving it up to the experts.

Wow I feel good. Best help I could ever be is to get you to him!
Did you get to hear his Civic?
Metal...Yeah, dome mids, a hole saw, stock kick panels and 5 minutes can do wonders...ALMOST enough to get me to go back to them....

Manny and I tried telling you use last week, rather than the cones you were originally planning.

OMG. I think it looks awesome. I would love to see what they did to the rear deck to take care of rattles. If I had an extra $20 I would drive down today and take a look. But I am broke. That 10" looks nice and beefy. I want to go 3way so bad now. Dammit!!! Glad you are happy.

Steve bottom mounted the sub to the rear deck. First he made a baffle and coated it with some type of spray coating. The he screwed it into the deck from the bottom then installed the sub. Then he matted the baffle and deck from underneath to seal everything up. After that he bolted the parcel board to the baffle to stiffen it up. Finally he made a new speaker grill to go on top. Here are some new pics of the sub:

Very nice. That is exactly what I wanted to see.Giving me some good ides as well. I finally finished the deadener and the rear deck still flaps around like I didn't do anything. I recently replaced the center clip with a bolt and bolted that to the rear deck. It worked for that part. Now I think I will drill through the thicker part of the rear deck and bolt the center of the back flap to the metal. Maybe in 2 spots. Not sure yet. I think they did a great job. I want your stock Bose grill. Let me know how much you want. The next step after the bolts is going to be cutting the rear deck and installing a stock Bose grill. I really hope you still have it. Let me know.
