SPEAKER HARNESS FOR 6 1/2's?

This might be a newb question, but i bought some polk 6 1/2 to replace all my factory speakers in the doors of my 2000 SE. But i can't find any place that sells speaker harnesses for an easy intsall so it looks like i'll have to cut the wires. Anybody know a site i can go to see how its done?

Check circuit city. They seem to always have what I need. The ones I had in my taurus were made by metra.

Don't cut 'em. t-tap them before the stock connection, and use the correct plugs that likely came with the speakers. Nothing permanent; virtually the same effect.

T-taps are the best way to go, just make sure you dont get + and - confused or your new speakers will sound like crap

Using a connector to tap a wire. Connects to it, but doesn't cut the wire.

When it's connected, it T's into the wire, hence T-tap.

oh ok. learn something new everyday. Thanks for the info.

But one other question, the factory harness has a plug on the end of it, i would assume i'd have to cut the wire to remove the plug, so then i could t-tap it, am i right?

Just a suggestion, have your speakers installed by someone.

For some reason I never did like the idea of not putting stamps on envelopes. It just didnt seem like it would be likely to reach its destination.
