All Microvision+CD/DVD owners...

I'm looking to do the 7 inch microvision and in-dash cd/dvd player that many of you have. I was looking at the JVC kd-dv5100. The last time i tried to find a cd player hu that plays dvds i accidentally bought a "dvd player", one that i would've had to put in the glove box or under the seat. i dont want that, i just want one headunit. i was in a hurry that day, so just to be safe this jvc is a hu that plays dvds rite? lol, anyways, does anyone have this headunit and how is it? can anyone recommend a different one that they may like better? thanks

Yes that is a normal head unit that also plays dvd's. Its only got one preout...but if you just want something pretty simple, its gonna be hard to beat for around the price of that unit.

The JVC does play dvd and is a simple HU, I like it because it can play MP3 tracks that are burnt on to dvd's which means about 4 gigs of music on 1 disc. Kinda better then having a 10 disc changer. The price is what stands out, $250 at bestbuy. One of the low priced dvd-HU

After looking at some prices online and on ebay, i have come to the conclusion that there is no way in hell i will buy that headunit!! lol it may very well be a good headunit but there is nothing that can constitute it being worth it, to me that is. Im just looking for something that does the job well...no sound competitions for me. Another question, theres that adaptor thing, dont remember the model number for it, ???NIS?? something, is it absolutely necessary to have the headunit work with stock bose speakers?? Thanks

the adapter your speak of is the only way to use a aftermarket headunit if you want to use the bose speakers. There is really no other way around it. If you wanna get your speakers upgraded and everything then you won't need the adapter.

Oh there is...there is ...you're just not using it. It's called the H701.

I don't know of other options off hand, but there's prolly some. Good luck in your search
