Hornet 554T -- Door Locking Issue

I have a 2k GLE with a two-way pager, alarm, remote start sytem..the Hornet 554T. I have an issue with the door locking on the system. Whenever I arm the system the doors will not automatically lock as they are supposed to. The system is also supposed to lock the doors after the key is in the ignition, but that is not happening either.

I had this problem in the past and checked all the settings and wires in the system. Everything was ok, and magically after a while the problem went away. Now after no prior indications it has come back as of last night.

My thoughts are it is the SECU in my max. Anyone else have any ideas? I'm fresh out of them...

Thanks.
Ryan

are your lock wires attached correctly?

well, i should ask if the locks are locking/unlocking via the remote first, but whatever.

You're correct, it should lock and unlock with insertion and removal of key and it should lock with the arming of the system. Check to see if your lock wire polarity is correct and then check to see if they're plugged in the correct output on the brain.

That's all I can give ya now until I get more info.

Ryan, if you have a DMM, check the green wire at the SECU coming from the alarm if its working then its a problem with the SECU itself, if not then the brain of the alarm, although I doubt this to be the problem.

It only "should" if that Feature is selected, on his it may be. Although remember its a Feature, not a solidly set part of the alarm.

The doors unlock fine with the remote. They just won't lock with it. But I can manually lock the doors with the door lock switch in the car. So the electronics of the door locking is working. And yes I have the feature activated where it will automatically lock with key insertion, and unlock once removed.

Last time I had this issue I checked the green wire, and it was fine. I guess what I can do is trace the wiring to where it was tapped to see if it is loose. It wouldn't be the first time I ran into this problem with the install I got. Bleh....

Thanks for the responses I appreciate it. I just hope its not the SECU.

Right, test the wire at the alarm box while pressing the stock lock button, If it's not getting power it's loose/disconnected somewhere.
