So I saw MaximaPolak's in-dash monitor mod on the 5th gen, got a few questions...

Hey guys, as some of you might have seen in the 5th gen forums, MaximaPolak posted up pictures of his awesome monitor mod, that thing looks so flush! Now, as most of us audio and electronic people here are, we all have that desire to somehow put in a video setup with our cars, the 4th gens were easier then the 5th because of the extra pocket for a HU, we lack that in the 5th gens .

Now, I was on ebay, and checked out some double-din monitor headunits, I didn't want to go the extra route for getting a seperate HU and figuring out where to put it, so I checked out the double din HU, which included a 6.5" screen, dvd player, all in one piece.

My main concern is, would there be any problems with sticking in a double-din monitor dvd player into the GXE kit? Should I watch out for anything in particular? Also also, hoping if people can post pics of their double din setups in the 5th gen using the GXE kit. Thanks alot, and sorry if this is in anyway a repost...

The only problem you might have is buying it from Fleabay.

I was considering buying a Pyle unit, yes I know it is one of the crappier brands compared to JVC, Kenwood, Sony, and even Panasonic, but I like the way they look, not to flashy and just black, as opposed to kenwood and JVC having silver and red on everything :-p. I know eBay may not be the most trustworthy place to go with, or even going with the Pyle unit (past experience with a crappy Pyle HU was horrible, monitorized screen would not come down unless i smacked it, my friend supposedly got it for a good deal, i thought it was crap :-p).

So what do you all think? Pyle? Ahh, I normally don't go with crappy brands, for sake of reliability, but at the moment, they look pretty nice, and have all the features I require.

Don't flame me guys.

Pyle = Pyle of ****.

If you prefer form over function, then go for it.

So what do you recommend about a good reliable double din screen/HU, but not look outlandishly flashly....

I haven't really looked at any other screens other then on eBay, but you have a picture of the eclipse screen? I seen one Eclipse HU, but it was a single din and had a motorized screen, if they ever made one like that of course...
