Just picked up my new HU!
Could not resist any longer. I just picked up my Eclipse CD8455. I paid for the install that way I could get the 3 year warrranty . I will probably really start playing with it on Monday. So far I am really liking it .

I have gotten more time to play with the HU. This things is very nice . The first thing I noticed is that when I have the time alignment engaged, it works way better than my previous HU. With my previous HU the sound stage seemed very small. I though it may have been my speakers going out, but those old things are still sounding good, especially with this HU. I finally figured out it was the T.A. feature that gave me that tiny sound stage with my Pioneer, kind of tunnel vision of sound (I tried all different settings, even all of the manual settings sounded the same as the auto settings). With the Eclipse HU this does not occur. I use the T.A. feauture, and the sound stage is still pretty wide. This is a great HU, and they fixed the little things that kind of bugged me with my CD8454.
Oh, the kids preferred the dolphins, but I explained to them why this is a good trade off . My little one told me her favorite color is red. I then did the red and blue, and she said "No Daddy, all of it red". I guess I can do this for her since the dolphins are gone .
