I wanted to know how this screen looked in the 5th gen. If anyone has pics It would be most appreciated. If you have one of these screens where did you put your radio?? not sure where to put mine. I might just get it molded but wanted some ideas before i fidle around with it too much

I tried this about a year and a half ago. The screen fits in the GXE dash really nicely. A source must be placed somewhere. Don (Pearl96Max) did the fiberglassing and put it where the ashtray is and moved the hazard button lower. A lot of chopping is necessary behind the ashtray to get the HU to fit.
We ended up scrapping the project.

MaximaPolak tried this last month sometime, do a search for his thread, I'm not sure what his progress was as of late.

EDIT: Just saw you had an I30. The dash of the 5th gen vs I30 is similar, yet different. Don't know enough about the I30 to offer my opinion.

 

thanks man I have a dashkit like the one you guys got for the GXE maxima. Now all i need to do is just figure out a place to put my blooody radio and im set. But where hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

 

Is it the actual GXE dash or the i30 one from Simon? If the GXE, then its not going to fit properly.

 

So where should one put the radio

 

In a 5th gen you would have to find a spot for it and custom fit it.

Works fine in the 4th gen because there are 3 din spots.
