Need Help!!

Well yesterday I replaced the starter in my buddies maxima b/c his car wouldnt start. Still didnt start so we thought that it might be his battery so i took my battery out of my car and put it into his car. Nope didnt work. So put the battery back into my car and now my radio wont work. (Sony CDX-C90). Ive tried disconnecting the battery terminals again and then re connecting them still doesnt work. Tried looking at the back of the headunit everythings still pluged in. Before this the headunit display wasnt working but i could still see what was going on with the radio b/c of the TV screen. Does anyone know how i can get this radio working again? And if possible the screen on the headunit? Thanks for all the help.

That is one of their nice units from a little while back right?

Why not just get it fixed by Sony.

Yea its a really nice unit i liked it, but im thinking now maybe just get rid of all the sony stuff i dont really like sony that much. I dont need the radio right away the supercharger sound is enough for now. But by spring time or when the system will be heard b/c of windows down i need to have it. Let me know of any headunits with good sound quality. No more then say $1000 retail and if possible ones they sell at crutchfiels. Out of curiosity how much would it be to send to sony to have fixed?

I had a Sony fixed once. My unit was dead, no power like yours. They did it under waranty. The parts cost $80, and had to come from Japan. I guess nobody domestically stocks these Japanese radio components? And the labor to install the parts cost $280. (It was a $530 unit.) When I got it back 3 months later, they replaced something that made the radio beep everytime I pushed a button. So the radio was fixed, but something was drastically changed in it and it wasn't like before. I guess Sony had a version change on some circuit, and didn't tell the repair facility about the changes. I ended up selling the car with the radio still working, but it left a bad impression in my mind for repairing radios. Plus the time it took just to get it back from the rapair shop was forever.

My reccomendation would be to go with Eclipse. Crutchfield only has their navigation units. If you want a regular HU, you have to go to your local Eclipse dealer. Good thing is that they are letting the 05 stuff go for good prices right now .

The only reason i want to go with cruthfield is that my cousin is the VP there so i would get a discount.

well i already have a screen so i wouldnt really want a flip out. Although if i got one with navi could i keep the headunit screen down and use the 7inch in the dash to show the navi?

They have two units that are not flip out, they are double din. I only brought this up because of the nice discount as well as you saying you maybe wanted to get rid of all your Sony stuff.

Even without the discount, you could get a top of the line Eclipse for a very good price right now.
