Question about the head unit ????????

Does the regular size pioneer cd player fit into the pocket below the stock BOSE unit. I have the flip down pocket in my car. also if I install the cd player can I still wire my stock unit just to light up at night when you turn the lights on does not have to play the music just to light up at night with the cd player below working. I think it looks cool when everyithing lights up at night. Thank you.

Yes, it will fit.
Yes, but youd have to get a factory rewire harness (Metra 71-7550) and hook up 12v, acc, ground, and illumination to it, by tapping into the factory wires, while also wiring those plus all your speakers to the new head unit in the pocket area. But it can be done.

Your gonna need two wiring harnesses, and maybe an antenna adapter. Most shops won't have the factory rewire harness in stock. But once they have that, rewiring the Bose deck to work like you want shouldn't be more than an extra 15-20 min of labor, so don't let them charge you too much more than a regular radio install. Nonetheless, most shops will charge you more for the install if you bring your own deck, so Im not sure. We charge 51+parts at Circuit City here in FL, Im not sure if Circuit prices are nationwide, but that should give you an idea.

Well the Pioneer will produce more light than the stock unit would if you just turn it on. Even if its off most of the pioneers can have the time displayed and that would most likely be brighter than the bose. IMO you're better of replacing the stocker
