alright...ive been tryin to get my system to work for about 2 weeks now..cant figure the problem out..cars a 98 maxima.. head unit is sony xplod cdx-ca810x.. now the back of the head unit looks like this 1 theres the 3 spots(audio in, rear out, front out) for rca cables then the black one hangin out..i got my rca plugged into the black one and ran to an alpine mrv-f352 amp (which is this 2 )... which is pushin 2 12" m3 motosport subs... i know this sounds ****ty but im broke.. so the amp and subs were in my friends jetta with no problem..so im thinking it must be the head unit... i tried a different amp and it was still the same...amps gettin power everything hookt up correctly, even bougt new rca's still no sound.. i have the rca ran to channel 5, sub wires ran to channel 5, and the back of amp is set to channel 5...please somebody tell em what to do..

Are you sure you connected your RCA's to the right output?

Post a picture of what it looks like and what you're connecting to. Did you try the other outputs?

i connected the rca's from the black rcas on the head unit..then i ran them to each output on the amp and still nothing...could it be the ground? i read somewhere the ground might be good enough to show power on the amp but not good enough to push the subs

Is that black output LABELED sub output?

What about your amp...sometimes there's numerous inputs and you have to select the right input.

Are your gains set correctly?

chances are that the black out put is not a output. Try using the rear or front rca outs.

Have you even TRIED with the other outputs?

Why don't you read the manual of the HU to see if that's actually an output rather than just assume that it's the exact one that you need.

i TRIED all the outputs...i dont have the manual..but the other outputs are the output for the front speakers and for rear speakers..the other one says audio in...none of them have to do with the subs that i know of...

To rule out your amp being the problem, get a headphone to RCA jack adapter and use a walkman to test your amp as it is mounted and powered on in the car. Put your walkman on medium volume level and you should be able to play music through your car's amp and everything should be good. If you hear music, your amp(s) are definitly good and you need to take a long hard look at the head unit.

aight so i just got everything to work..believe it or not the dam battery wire fuse blow and thats the one thing i didnt check.. i didnt check it because the amp was still getting power..turns out the amp will still get power from the battery but only half of what the battery pushes..so the system works now but the subs arent hitting very hard and the adjustments were all made on the amp already so i gotta mess with it some more.. just thought you guys might wanna know..the black rca's comin from the HU are the sub out rca's(if ya wanted to know..)
