I was wondering would anyone know if this clarion NICE unit would fit where the info screen is currently at. The unit looks like it has many capabilities and i would like to incorporate it within the dash.

Hey Swerv, before i got all hot and heavy into this whole carputer thing, i had a N.I.C.E piece. IMHO i thought it was horriable, its more for the person who wants to take it in and out of the car, youhave to load it from the house computer and the clarity on it is horrid!!!!!!.It does not fit in the stock section up there at all. It jsut sits there and you have to use double sided sticky tape to hold it in place......tell me this Swerv, what is a budget???, what are you trying to accomplish???...you sound alot like i did when i first started this whole install in my max. Let meknow and i can better help you. If its out there i might have tried it!

Thanks for the reply. I currently purchased a 7 inch Nesa monitor and a dvd/tv tuner unit for my max. I was reconsidering using the NICE as the monitor since it is touchscreen and also has navigation. Basically, I have my multimedia set but im considering throwing a navigation unit. Without a touchscreen I am limited to the kenwood/similar units which are controlled by remote or voice recognition.

I am tryin to maintain a stock appearance as to prevent theft while parking in the street. So an aftermarket headunit has not crossed my mind. Overall i want to add a sub and an amp to the bose system and have a screen that plays dvds where the info screen is currently at and rerouting the info screen to the storage bin at the bottom of the dash.

Any suggestions, should i change up my components or work with what i have? As far as budget im not lookin to spend more then 1000, which is why i considered the NICE. Thanks for your input in advance!
