You ended up wasting money on TWO install kits, and a cap........ Congrats on the new equip though.

All used I'm assuming?

Don't get defensive

Ebay? I'm all for a budget system, but you wasted some money that you could have saved.

Yes certainly some wasted money there. Not to mention Im sure I could have pieced together a nice setup for not a Ton more than that with superior products and warranties..

Of course Im not the only source, but a lil research can go a long way.

No.... I have friends at crutchfield and best buy....
I don't feel that I wasted money at all...
I've had a system in 4 of my cars and have used all of this stuff before in the past.
Plus, how can you say rockford fosgate/infinity/alpine stuff is crap?????????
I'm gonna be using KnuKonceptz Audio signal wires.
For what I got, it'll be comparable/blow away most systems that cost around 1000 and less.... It's a matter of how you set things up and EQ everything.....

Oh and how can we say those brands are crap? Simple we check the facts. Try thinking outside the box rather than feeding into the bandwagons that have been created by followers of huge marketing campaigns.

Good luck with the install...

Why are you going with different speakers for front and back? How come you didnt chose separates for the front? And why 5.25's?

Thanks!

I chose 5.25's in the front because I like having a smaller diameter up front because I dont need that much bass coming out of it, and I like the reaction of a smaller speaker opposed to a 6.5....

There's so much fun I could have in this thread

I'll retain myself though.

Just out of curiosity, blackmaxx, have you ever heard anything besides what BB/CC carry?

edit: also, please define "reaction" from a small speaker.

Very odd reasoning but okay. I'd have to agree with the bandwagon stuff. Just because those products are so popular doesnt mean that they are good.

I have had personal experience, and heard everything I bought in person.
I liked the way every product sounded....
What is BB/CC??????????
I didn't buy anything because people thought they were good etc..
I THINK THEY ARE GOOD because I like how they sound...... Not what other people have told me....

As far as the speaker:
A 10" sub will have a tighter/faster kick/feel than a 12" sub, but 12" will be able to produce a deeper harder kick.....
I applied the same thing to the speakers....

A whole lot of reading and learning needs to occur here......

Putting in a bigger midrange up front will help your front stage. Stay with a 6.5 mid, you will get better sound.

Right, because the material from which the cone is made has ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING to do with the response...

I RARELY shop at either of those stores... just get some stuff for cheap there....

Thanks for the input on the 6.5... maybe i'll try to return the 5.25's and get 6.5's....

once u enjoy thats all that matters, if you believe its a good system then youll be happy with it. Not everyone wants crisp quality sound, the system that you have does the job. Enjoy, i know youll have fun wiring it up!
